We care about safety
The health, safety and well-being of residents, visitors and team members is paramount. Especially at a time when Covid19 and other viruses circulate within society.
We take pride in our extremely high standard of cleanliness and attention to detail, which have helped ensure we are well prepared for situations just like this. Our number one priority, now and always, is ensuring the safety of our residents and staff.
But we’re going even further during these unprecedented times and have implemented additional measures to keep everyone safe and happy in our home. Some of these measures include:
- – All staff do Lateral Flow Tests (LFT) before coming on duty and have bi-monthly PCR tests. Temperature checks and Company Track and Trace forms are completed and retained.
- – The home has a comprehensive Infection, Prevention and Control Policy which includes staff training and up-to-date communications with residents, families and staff.
- – A Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) supply is maintained with availability of masks specially fitted for individual staff.
- – Our housekeeping teams follow a robust cleaning and environmental decontamination programme throughout the Home overseen by the Management Team.
- – We follow Government guidance and, along with advice from the Covid Safe Team, customise our policies to safely meet the needs of our residents.
Despite these measures the fun hasn’t stopped here at Les Hoûmets. Our residents continue to enjoy the daily social activities and special events planned for them and led by our Activities Co-Ordinator. The individual feedback and group discussions at our Residents Forum is invaluable for ensuring inclusiveness in planning the programme.
Visiting The Home
We want to make visiting your loved ones as easy and straightforward as possible while keeping them safe. Nothing can replace the care and love family and friends provide. We know the period of the pandemic has been a particularly difficult and emotional time for care home residents, their loved ones, and staff.
The Government’s Covid 19 Vaccination programme has to a large extent minimised the impact that this virus has had on society and in particular vulnerable individuals such as our residents.
We therefore would appreciate your continued co-operation with the precautions and risk assessments that remain in place at our Home to keep our residents, staff and visitors safe.
It is particularly important that you:
- – Take a Lateral Flow Test (LFT) on the day of your visit and wear a mask before entering the Home. Testing supports care homes to safely maintain a balance between infection control and the vital benefits of visiting to the health and wellbeing of our residents. We are happy to give you a LFT kit and surgical mask on arrival should you need them for use before entering the premises.
- – The home has a comprehensive Infection, Prevention and Control Policy which includes staff training and up-to-date communications with residents, families and staff.
- – Effective communication between us all is key to a shared understanding of the necessary policies and practices that we have in place and we promise to ensure we play our part in this.
If you have any other questions about visiting or matters concerning your family members, please contact Monica Le Mière, our Home Manger on Tel: 855656.
